Electrical products: classification and general characteristics

Electrical products: classification and general characteristics

Electrical products are various types of goods intended for the production, transmission and use of electricity.

These include wires, cables, lighting fixtures and various low-voltage devices. In addition, this includes a huge range of products, without which not a single sphere of activity of a modern person can do.

Types of electrical equipment

These products can be divided into several types:

  • low-voltage equipment – switches, circuit breakers, ballasts and other products;
  • high-voltage products – include transformers, grounding switches and other devices;
  • insulating products – combines insulating materials and other protective products;
  • lighting products;
  • cable and wire products, etc.

Auxiliary equipment

Products in this category include a wide range of auxiliary equipment that ensures the smooth operation of household appliances and industrial equipment. This category is no less in demand, and modern installations cannot operate without it. The most common auxiliary devices are: a) Auxiliary devices for the installation of electrical appliances and industrial equipment.

  • stabilizers that protect consumer devices from power surges;
  • uninterruptible power supplies that allow equipment to continue operating for some time during a power outage. Many modern models also allow you to equalize fluctuations in the network.
  • consumables – include batteries, chargers and other products.

Protective devices

In the modern world, the demand for electrical products emas is growing every year, new devices are replacing old ones. Without such devices, the operation of the electrical network would be impossible. They also ensure operational safety and extend the life of instruments and industrial equipment.

Such products can also be used to automate certain processes. An example is circuit breakers, which conduct currents in a circuit under normal conditions and automatically protect electrical networks and equipment from emergency situations.

Residual current devices are important. They protect against electric shock by shutting down the system in the event of an electrical leak due to a malfunction in an appliance such as a stove, oven, or washing machine.

One of the newest protective devices is the differential circuit breaker, which combines the functions of a circuit breaker and an RCD.

Cable products

Various wires and cables representing individual product groups can also be the result of electrical appliances. They are designed to conduct current, and without them the installation would not be possible. Nowadays, there are different types of cable products used for different purposes.

Cable products are the most common category of electrical products. In modern conditions, the most commonly used copper conductor has low electrical and thermal resistance and a long service life. They work under high loads and do not heat up. Cables with conductor cores made of other metals are also available.

The cables are shielded to protect against interference, and armored to resist mechanical damage. Cables are manufactured with different types of insulation, so there is a choice of products for any application.
