Nail Extensions. Gel Polish Nail Extension Technique

Looking at a woman’s beautiful, well-groomed nails, one can tell she is in good health and treats herself and her body with care and respect. A modern woman will always get a beautiful, fresh manicure before heading out to an important place, such as work. But what if your nails are brittle and constantly breaking? You can extend them using gel at a specialized salon or at home.
The nail extension process involves lengthening the nail plates using special products available on the website; gel polish makes them even, smooth, long, and most importantly, healthy and beautiful.
There are two ways to extend your nails with gel:
- Tips
- Forms
Tips are artificial nails that come in various colors and shapes. They are attached to your natural nails using a special adhesive and then covered with gel. Nails that were once short will instantly become long and elegant.
Nail extensions using forms involve applying pre-made templates tailored to the size of each natural nail. This pre-formed nail is positioned over the natural nail so that the cutout aligns with the edge of the nail being extended; the template is then covered with gel, which hardens, and the template is removed. The result is an extension of the natural nail. However, forms are only applied to nails of sufficient length; they are not used on short nails.
Pros and cons of gel nail extensions
Of course, the undeniable advantage of gel is that the nail surface turns out even, smooth, and shiny, without any imperfections. However, nails become very brittle after application, constantly break, and begin to crack at certain temperatures; they cannot be repaired and must be removed immediately after damage.
Currently, the gel used in salons is very popular. It doesn’t stick to the skin, and nails are less prone to cracking after application.
Gel nail extension technology
First, the nail must be disinfected, buffed, and any shine or unevenness removed. Gel is applied to the prepared nail and cured under UV light for several minutes. Next, after drying, apply another layer of gel to the nail and dry it again. This process should be repeated three times. After that, use a nail file to shape the nail as desired and trim it where necessary. Finally, apply a top coat, such as nail polish.
Caring for Artificial Nails
You should take good care of your nails after getting extensions: clean your cuticles regularly, avoid strong or sudden impacts, and treat them gently and carefully. Also, avoid acetone in nail polish remover and in the polishes themselves. Avoid using harsh cleaning products.
By following standard hygiene rules and taking good care of them, artificial nails can last about three to four months, looking long and beautiful.
