What kinds of tights are there?

There is probably no woman whose wardrobe does not include tights. Even in countries with a warm climate, every woman has tights, such as those with a patterned design or support tights.
The main parameter that characterizes tights is their denier; you can view all specifications on the website. Density is measured in denier; the numerical value DEN is equal to the mass of a thread, nine kilometers long, from which the tights are woven. The denser the threads used to make the tights, the warmer the product will be, and the higher the DEN value. The lightest tights have a DEN of 5, while the maximum value can reach 200.
Based on density, tights can be divided into several types:
– tights for everyday wear with a DEN ranging from 6 to 40;
– very thin tights, with a DEN of no more than 9;
– thin (DEN 10–15);
– medium-density, with a DEN ranging from 20 to 40;
– thick tights, suitable even for cold weather, with a DEN of up to 70.
It’s worth noting that Omsa’s ultra-thin tights are practically imperceptible on the skin; they can even be worn in hot weather (which is especially relevant for women who work in offices with a strict dress code).
Shapewear tights deserve a special mention. This innovation appeared on the market not long ago but instantly won the hearts of women worldwide. Typically, these products consist of two parts: the tights themselves and shorts that can flatten the stomach and hips. While the tights portion may not be very thick (20–40 DEN), the thickness of the top portion can reach up to 150–180 DEN. Thanks to this thickness, the tights can reduce the circumference of the waist, hips, and buttocks by 3–4 centimeters.
For women prone to varicose veins, support tights are available; these products are usually labeled “Support” on the packaging. It is important to understand that these tights are not a treatment for varicose veins; they are intended solely to prevent blood stagnation in the veins and provide a mild massaging effect.
For women with varicose veins, tights are prescribed by a doctor. These specialized products are sold only in pharmacies; they provide compression and help improve blood circulation in the legs (because the pressure is higher in the lower part than in the upper part).
Sports tights can be found in specialty stores for ballroom dancers. These are the most elastic tights available and come in a very wide range of colors.
