Boat rights GIMS

Hikers, fishermen and hunters pay special attention to their equipment, from boats to protective clothing. However, they forget about their GIMS rights. Boats, like vehicles, are a known source of increased danger. At the same time, operating conditions for vehicles on water are very different from operating conditions on land. Therefore, other departments are working on issuing licenses for small boats and accepting inspections. Together they try to figure out how to get boat license this article explains when you need a small boat license and how to obtain a GIMS license.

When are GIMS rights required in Moscow?

The need to obtain a driver’s license to operate a small boat is regulated by Russian legislation. The rules for using small vessels on the waters of the Russian Federation indicate the characteristics of the boat and engine power, and when operating them it is important to have a GIMS license. There are conditions under which rights are not required. This means you can’t limit yourself when traveling on water.

If the vessel’s carrying capacity does not exceed 200 kg and the engine power is 9. 8 hp, a certificate is not required. This takes into account the maximum possible combination (boat complete with engine, fuel tank and other attributes). An important nuance. If it is proposed to install a larger motor on the boat, the police reserve the right to request documents from you, even if the motor currently has a maximum power of 9. 8 hp.

They also test the navigator’s readiness to help people overboard.

If, while operating an inflatable boat, speedboat or gyroscopic scooter, you are faced with a document check by an employee of the State Inspectorate for Inspection, you should have the right. If you don’t have a license, you risk losing your boat. The boat will be recalled and the navigator suspended until the situation is clarified. Owners must pay a fine of 1-2, 000 rubles for administrative offenses and parking costs.
