Everyone dreams of having a beautiful smile. Straight and healthy teeth give a person self-confidence.Unfortunately, however, achieving a perfect smile often requires visiting an orthodontist, who will use braces to correct the bite and align the teeth.

A braces system consists of brackets, elastic bands, an orthodontic archwire, ligature rings, and brackets. At the start of treatment, all of these components are attached to the teeth for a fairly long period of time. Once all issues have been corrected, the braces are removed. Before installation, an examination of the oral cavity and teeth is conducted. A plaster model and an X-ray of the jaw are taken. The orthodontist determines how long the treatment will take.

There are several types of braces. There are lingual braces. They are attached to the teeth on the inner side. Their main advantage is that they are invisible to others. Therefore, this type of braces does not affect the patient’s appearance. Their disadvantages include a high cost and speech impediments during the first few weeks after installation.

Lingual braces – these are placed on the outer surface of the teeth. They are affordable, which is why this type of braces is the most commonly used. Naturally, these braces are fully visible, so the material used to make them is very important. Braces can be made of ceramic, metal, sapphire, or plastic.

  • Sapphire braces. Single-crystal sapphire is the primary material used to make this system. From an aesthetic standpoint, these external braces are nearly perfect. They are transparent and do not discolor during treatment. Therefore, the price of sapphire braces in Odintsovo will pleasantly surprise you.
  • Ceramic braces. Among external braces, these are the least noticeable and the most expensive. They are very durable and do not change color during treatment.
  • Metal braces. Metal braces are the cheapest. That is why both doctors and patients most often choose this type of system. Modern metal braces come in a variety of colors and shapes. They are small in size. This system has minimal friction between the slot and the archwire. The biggest drawback of this braces system is that it is too noticeable on the surface of the teeth.
  • Plastic braces. They look slightly better than metal ones. They are also relatively inexpensive. Unfortunately, plastic is not a strong enough material. Because of this, metal slots are used in plastic braces, which does not improve their aesthetic appearance. In addition, plastics absorb dyes heavily, so patients with these braces cannot consume beverages that contain dyes.
