Design and principle of operation of a screw compressor
The class of rotary equipment includes screw-type compressors. The operating principle of such structures is based on the rotation of two rotors, which are called screws.

Today electric screw compressors completely replaced other types of compressors from mobile stations, ship refrigeration units, from glass, chemical, food production and other areas of the industrial sector.

Advantages

Screw compressors are designed in such a way that the efficiency and capability of low-power engines increases, and energy consumption is reduced by half. The advantages of this type of industrial equipment include long service life, reliability, insufficient weight, and compact dimensions.

Screw units do not require continuous maintenance, since they have the ability to operate autonomously for a long time. They are installed quite quickly on their own frames without a specially prepared base, and they vibrate minimally during operation.

screw installations are equipped with noise-blocking casings and operate much quieter than others. In production workshops, they maintain the most comfortable conditions for workers.

The vast majority of devices are equipped with a digital remote control. Using this device, it is easy to program process cycles on the time controller, change pressure and energy consumption. Operations can be performed remotely.

One of the fundamental advantages is low oil consumption. The screw design works much cleaner than others, which means it does not need additional filters and can be used even on pneumatic machines.

Structure and mechanism of work

Compressed air and gas make complex systems work, consisting of pneumatic cylinders, valves and other devices. A screw compressor converts electrical energy into gas-air thrust.

Rule of action

Following the sliding principle, the rotors rotate towards each other. The movement of the propellers draws ambient air through the inlet filter. The air flow is carried out through purification, mixing with oil, cooling. The resulting mixture enters the system under a constant screw draft. Next, coming to the sump, it separates the oil from the air masses, the latter is removed from the compressor unit into the equipment used.

Conclusion

Screw units are not the cheapest option to buy, but they are a good competitor to other types of compressors in terms of performance. They are incomparably more productive in terms of the total cost of maintenance, repairs, energy, workers and are able to justify their price long before the end of the use stage. For large volumes of work, the rotary type of mechanism is a reasonable solution from an economic point of view.
